    Thank you for your interest in joining Team Philadelphia at the 2026 Transplant Games of America in Denver, CO from June 18 - 23, 2026!

    The Transplant Games are an Olympic-style competition for individuals who have undergone a life-saving or healing transplant surgery, living donors, and donor families. The Games are scheduled for June 18 - 23, 2026 in Denver, CO! All ages and athletic abilities are welcome! 

    For recipients and living donors to compete in the 2026 Transplant Games of America, you must have received their transplant/donated organ prior to or on September 18, 2025.

  • Eligibility for Financial Assistance

    Individuals eligible for financial assistance:

    1. Adult Athletes (i.e. recipients or living donors). 
    2. First Time Attending Pediatric Athletes (i.e. recipients under the age of 18). Pediatric athletes attending the Transplant Games for the first time are eligible to request financial assistance for up to three (3) immediate family members (parents/guardians and siblings). 
    3. Returning Pediatric Athletes (i.e. recipients under the age of 18). Pediatric athletes that have previously attended the Transplant Games are eligible to request financial assistance for up to one (1) immediate family member (parent/guardian).
    4. Donor Families (Family members of deceased organ, tissue or cornea donors). Up to four (4) members of the donor family can request financial assistance to cover their travel expenses.

    In evaluating requests for financial assistance, Gift of Life Transplant Foundation will consider what efforts the team member has made to raise funds for the team and what efforts the team member has done or plans to do to help advance the Gift of Life mission.

     

    Applications will be evaluated based on:

    • Dedication and ability to help advance the Gift of Life mission by working with us to raise awareness and build support for saving lives through organ donation.
    • Ability to contribute to Team Philadelphia’s camaraderie, diversity, and spirit.
    • Financial need and fundraising efforts
    • Preference given to first time attendees

     

    Please be aware that requesting financial assistance does not guarantee that funding will be provided. 

    If your attendance to the Transplant Games is dependent on financial aid, we advise not registering for the 2026 Transplant Games of America until after you receive notification on your financial assistance applicaiton. 

    Applications are due on February 14, 2026.

    Applicants will be notified by February 27, 2026.

  • Financial Need

  • If you are traveling with Team Philadelphia, the cost per person is approximately $3,000 for athletes and $2,900 for non-athletes.

    This includes registration fee, airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and food (for six days/nights). 

  • Support of Gift of Life's Mission

  • To receive financial aid through Transplant Foundation, Gift of Life Donor Program asks applicants to commit to completing three of the following activities before the end of 2026:

    1. Attend a Gift of Life Ambassador Program meeting/training
    2. Share Your Story with the Gift of Life Communications Team to help promote organ and tissue donation
    3. Request a Speaker for your house of worship, school, or community group
    4. Sign up for the Home Cook Heroes Program at Gift of Life Howie's House
    5. Sign up for a Gift of Life volunteer opportunity provided in the weekly volunteer emails
    6. Refer at least five people to Registerme.org/giftoflife to register as organ and tissue donors

    • Team Philadelphia/Transplant Foundation agrees that this information will only be used for evaluation to grant assistance for the Transplant Games and will not be released to any outside person, group or agency. Transplant Foundation reserves the right to request additional information from applicants. If an applicant's circumstances change, it is the applicant's responsibility to notify Transplant Foundation of the change. The signing of this form states that you have truthfully completed this form to the best of your knowledge.

     

    • By submitting this application, I agree that if I receive financial assistance to the 2026 Transplant Games of America, I will be a dedicated team member of Team Philadelphia while attending The Games in Denver, CO from June 18 - 23, 2026. I agree to check-in with Gift of Life staff as needed and support other team members of Team Philly in their events and programs, not just my own. I agree to support Team Philly and Gift of Life before, during, and after The Transplant Games.
